Celebrity Nursery Reveal – Former Spice Girl, Mel B!

Our friends over at Little Crown Interiors recently completed the nursery design for former Spice Girl Mel B and her new baby girl, Madison! This nursery is absolutely gorgeous with lavender and silver accents, giving it a glamorous feel while still remaining calm and serene. The crib, changing tray and armoire are all by Bratt Decor with most of the pieces being from the Chelsea Collection. The room also includes artwork by Oopsy Daisy, custom crib bedding, glider and ottoman by Angel Song and a luxury crib mattress by Natural Mat. My favorite part of the nursery has got to be the gorgeously draped area where the glider and ottoman sit that creates a serene space for Mel B. to enjoy the nursery with her daughter.

Naomi and Gerri of Little Crown did an absolutely amazing job on this nursery and if you want to see more, visit them at Little Crown Interiors or check out their post on Project Nursery!

Inside Singer Jewel's Nursery for Son Kase!

Grammy award-winning singer and songwriter Jewel, married world champion pro rodeo cowboy, Ty Murray in August of 2008. Almost 3 years later, the happy couple, had their first baby, a son named Kase Townes Murray. This country born couple decided to mix their two styles and gave son Kase a nursery with a rugged feel and elegant undertones. A combination that turned out beautifully!  Jewel stated that she wanted the room “ to be calm” and that she loved the vintage look of the Bratt Décor Venetion Crib in White that was chosen for the room. The Venetian Cast Iron Crib is gorgeous, versatile, and classic. The crib comes complete with four posters and cross bars, which allows the lucky parents three completely different looks for the crib.

For the bedding in the room, they chose the Marlo Crib Bedding by Serena & Lily! This bedding really fits the theme of the room with its naturalistic motif that brings a since of calm and beauty to the nursery just as Jewel wanted. Also in the room are various personal touches included Ty’s baby cowboy boots and the miniature guitar that was a gift from a friend.

Rosenberry Rooms Featured in Cake Boss Nursery

Last night TLC aired the highly anticipated Cake Boss: Baby Special. In the episode, Cake Boss Buddy Valastro and his wife Lisa welcomed new baby Carlo to the family! One of my favorite parts of the episode was when Buddy surprised his wife with a nursery cake at the baby shower. The nursery cake was an exact replica of the new nursery created for baby Carlo by interior decorator and artist Sherri Blum. Thank you so much Sherri for including us in this special nursery design!

Sherri selected our Ivory Berkley Shag Rug by Surya for the nursery. Also featured in the nursery were the Venetian Crib, Chelsea Armoire and Chelsea Dresser and Changing Table by Bratt Decor, crib bedding and window treatments by Olena Boyko, custom glider by Angel Song, and lighting by Charn & Company. All of these featured products and designers can be found on RosenberryRooms.com!

Meet Mary Bauer of Bratt Décor

So many adjectives come to mind when I think of Bratt Décor. Beautiful, elegant, cool, sophisticated, opulent, modern and stylish, but the most prevalent one is original. Mary and Stephen Bauer have created what is arguably the most original baby and children’s furniture line on the market today. With equally impressive collections varying greatly in design, from luxurious to traditional and classic to modern, the common thread is a distinct and unique style. I have always been a huge fan of Bratt Décor and purchased the Sweet Jane Collection in lavender many years ago for my daughter. I am not alone in my admiration of everything Bratt! Along with adoring parents everywhere, Bratt Décor is a huge celebrity favorite. You may have seen the gorgeous Chelsea Collection in antique silver in Mario Lopez and Courtney Mazza’s nursery featured in US Weekly and on Lopez’s show Extra. Other famous Bratt Décor customers include Katie Holmes, Heidi Klum, Kourtney Kardashian, Halle Berry, Tori Spelling and Jennifer Lopez.

Personally, I can’t wait to see what designs Mary & Stephen Bauer have up their sleeves for future collections! Take a minute to check out the entire Bratt Décor nursery and kids room furniture selection on RosenberryRooms.com. Now here’s our interview with the wonderful president of Bratt Décor, Mary Bauer!

Enjoy,

Susie Fougerousse

How would you define the Bratt Décor style philosophy?

Bratt Decor style is timeless, personal, original, and excellent. We believe that everyone has a personal style, and we try and create collections that speak to the broadest movements in design, be it contemporary, traditional, luxury, or classic design. Style is one way we communicate to the world who we are and what we love.

What inspired you to become a designer and start a business?

My husband, Stephen, and I started this business when I was pregnant with our first child, Sebastian. We just couldn’t find anything that spoke to our distinct sense of style. So, Stephen designed a crib, and that became the beginning of everything Bratt.

Why did you choose to design children’s furniture?

It was a choice born of necessity. When I was first pregnant, way back in 1995, choices were very limited. The idea of sophisticated design had not reached the nursery at that time.

What is your favorite part of your daily work…when you reflect on the day, what is most rewarding?

I love redefining our timeless designs in new photo shoots, pulling from what’s hot right now. It always amazes me how our designs, some of which have been around for 15 years, never go out of style. That, and working with the new mommies. I love that time in a woman’s life, and being able to share in it in our small way is such a gift.

If you had to pick a favorite design from your collection, what would it be?

It changes daily. Right now, I’m in love with the newest pieces, the Chelsea Lifetime Iron Crib. It’s stately and grand and converts to a full bed. I see Tuscan villas and Paris apartments when I look at that piece. When I’m in a different mood, Soho white with the loft eases my weary soul. It’s simple and pure and easy. But, I love them all.

What sets Bratt Décor apart from other children’s furniture designers?

Well, every single person is unique aren’t they? No two are ever alike. Bratt Décor is the combination of Stephen and myself and our life and love story. Our designs come from deep within us, from what takes our breath away as we move through this life. They are deeply personal. No one else can tell that story.

Do you have any news that you would like to share, perhaps about upcoming designs or introductions to your line?

Currently, we’re working on a design book that will help parents define their style and then achieve it. It’s not really a book, but a variation on what was our catalogue. I hope everyone will find it really useful, and it will be a great source for those looking to create their own version of the perfect nursery.

How To Choose A Nursery Theme

Chelsea Sleigh CribIt’s never too early to choose a nursery theme. Whether you’ve just discovered you’re expecting or closing in fast on a delivery date, the best time to get the nursery in order is right now. Once baby arrives, you’ll want that room to be a haven for baby and a peaceful refuge for yourself.

My approach to room design is to choose a concept, like opulence, and then find a spectacular piece of furniture that totally captures the idea. I then select everything else to support that one primary furnishing. I also like to choose furniture that won’t outlive its usefulness as baby grows up. Rosenberry Rooms has everything I need to meet both criteria on one easy-to-shop website.

With opulence as the concept, my first step is to click on Rosenberry’s Luxury Collection to find the piece de resistance. In a nursery, my focal point would be the crib. I fell in love with the Chelsea Sleigh Crib by Bratt Decor because it’s opulent, of course, but also because it will make even the drabbest room look spectacular.

World Explorer ArmoireThe fun of decorating is that you get to do it your way. You might prefer a lighter theme in your nursery and fall for the extraordinary World Explorer Armoire by Sweet Beginnings. With tons of room for adorable baby clothes, this piece would instantly bring color, artistry, and pizazz to the nursery, partner easily with any kind of crib, and harmonize effortlessly with eclectic country furniture.

I’d then click over to Rosenberry Room’s Themes section to find furniture to augment the crib. The Themes area is organized into colors from white/ivory to purple/lavender and design elements from gingham to toile. Both sections have tons of furniture in hundreds of colors and designs.

In the brown section, I found the Harmony Espresso Daybed by Stanley. It’s a convenient place for mom or dad to catch a nap and still be close to baby, provides nursery seating, gives extra storage space with optional trundle and, when baby gets older, becomes a child’s bed that can be used from the toddler years on.

Taylor ArmoireI would then add the Taylor Dressing Station in Espresso because it will transition into a combination dresser and bookcase as baby grows up. The Taylor Armoire, like the dressing station, will work as well in infancy as it will when baby gets older. Now the nursery is furnished with opulent pieces that, except for the crib, will see baby straight through to adulthood.

All that remains is to choose accessories. You’ll find many ideas to inspire your inner decorator in the Themes section. Accents like rugs, wall art, floor coverings, murals, lighting, along with crib bedding and baby clothes are just the beginning. There are themes like butterflies, the beach, dinosaurs, stars & moon, the wild west, and lots more, all with baby and nursery items galore.
