With the holidays quickly approaching, it’s important to make room for all the new toys, clothes and other odds and ends your little ones or your teenagers will inevitably accumulate. Or if you’re like me, you really just need to organize all the things you already have! Either way, finding stylish storage options isn’t always an easy task, which is why I wanted to share with you some great tips and options for an organized kid’s room.
In terms of furniture, finding pieces that are both beautiful and functional is key. Take for example the Elite Zoe Storage Sideboard and Platform Bed. This bed features a daybed layout, with plenty of storage both along the sideboard and under the bed. The memoboard adds a unique, personalized touch. If you have a small room that lacks storage options, this bed is a great choice as well various other vertical storage items. The Seaside Dreams Bookcase is a great option with traditional styling and a small footprint.
If color is what you’re looking for in your storage designs, you definitely want to check out the Russell and Mackenna furniture collection. I especially love the Basic Cubby Box Dresser because it offers plenty of room for storing all your little one’s necessities in both drawers and various cubby holes. Not to mention, it comes in a wide variety of vibrant colors and the option to add custom accents! The Lydia Bookshelf, also by Russell and Mackenna is perfect for smaller rooms because it offers vertical storage with a very small footprint and you can post several beside each other or on either side of a desk as shown here.
For a more modern, accent storage piece, the Tree Bookcase by Nurseryworks is an excellent choice. It’s so imaginative and you can mount it to any wall and just start stacking books, dolls and other odds and ends. Your little one will love this whimsical design and it will definitely make clean-up more fun!
If you don’t have room to add furniture storage, there are many other functional and stylish options for you to choose from. We just recently displayed the Elements Caddies in our design center here in Raleigh, NC and these pieces are awesome! The picture just doesn’t do them justice. You can pile toys, dolls, books, whatever you want in these caddies and their unique design magically makes a pile of junk look cool! If you would rather stow things away, the Euro Storage Suitcases are adorable and sized to fit on a shelf or bookcase. They come in many colors too that fit with any room theme or design. A toy chest is also a great choice. Make sure it has a slow close lid like this blue one from Relics Furniture to keep tiny fingers safe!
